Mr. Romance himself :)

First of all, I have to say how thankful I am to my loving God Who has given me such an amazing, romantic, and thoughtful husband! A few days before Valentine's Day, I asked Scott if we could go out for supper that night, I think because I was feeling too sick to cook. He, ever so carefully, said he wanted to save money because he wanted to take me out on Monday night, for a special date...he hadn't forgotten Valentine's Day! Not that I thought he might or anything, but we have been very busy, tired, sickly... My Mum had asked me earlier that day if I knew if Scott was planning anything. I said I didn't think so, and she reminded me that he is quite romantic. Little did I know he had already asked her to babysit Lucy, overnight! My wonderful, loving husband stole me away to a bed and breakfast, a red one, just outside of town! It was beautiful, with antique furniture, a living room and bedroom, a jacuzzi, etc. After he got home from work, he freshened up and made some secret phone calls in the basement. Then he came upstairs with my favourite hidden behind his back~Junior Mints, the Valentine's edition! They're so exciting, you never know if you'll get a red-filled or white-filled one. He also gave me a beautiful postcard from Western Brook Pond, NFLD, where we went on our honeymoon! I don't know how he got that, he wouldn't say. :) On the postcard he wrote a lovely poem and I almost cried. Then we packed up Lucy and all her belongings (it seemed) and dropped her off at Mum and Dad's...with a little bit of reservation since we've never been apart overnight before! Well, she had a blast and slept all night and took naps and was a "perfect little angel", as Mum would say. Once we dropped Lucy off, we were alone. I know that kind of goes without saying, but it's precious! :) Then he took me to our favourite restaurant, Montana's, where he had proposed over a year and half ago. We shared fajitas, just like on our first date. We saved money and were too full for dessert! Plus the waitress gave us a handful of Dove chocolates with the messages inside, another one of my favourites, and she was really interested when Scott shared the Gospel with her. Then we left and hopped on the highway, which was a little scary cause it was slippery. I had no idea where we were going and by that time it was getting close to 10 PM! We got off at a potentially sketchy exit, but the bed and breakfast was absolutely beautiful!! A Chinese couple owns it now and we had a nice chat with the lady upon checking out. She's a Christian and might come check out our church sometime. They served us breakfast and I actually got a decent night's sleep, which is a real blessing these days! I wasn't sick either, and only had to sit down a couple times. It wasn't all the luxuries or pampering that made the night so special, though that was nice. :) The best part was being with my husband, spending time completely alone, together, just with each other. I could give him my undivided attention without even a thought running to Lucy, almost. :) I am just so thankful for the romantic I married! Come check out time on Tuesday morning, we didn't dilly or dally around, we both with very eager to go see Lucy and find out how she made out. What an answer to prayer, we didn't have to come rushing back to town at 3 AM because the baby missed her mommy and daddy! And it was a real blessing to know she was in good hands and in an environment she is very comfortable in. I would like to go on and on about how much of a wonderful time we had and how restful it was, but words cannot describe! I will just say, I am truly blessed and truly thankful for the people God has placed in my life!

So happy for you! I agree, those special moments that you get with your hubby are so much more special; especially with little ones around.
