Blessings of today

I just wanted to write a quick line to say how thankful I am for today! This morning I woke to a baby who had slept 7.5 hours and not eaten for 9.5 hours...all smiles! I hadn't set my alarm, so the Lord was looking out for me and we made it on time for Bible study. I had a wonderful time of encouragement and fellowship at my young married ladies Bible study, though we were missing one due to illness, again. I just love sharing what God's Word means to me and seeing these ladies growing first hand as they too study God's Word! It's so fun and exciting. I often wonder why I get to be part of it, but have decided not to analyze and to simply be thankful. Scott took care of Lucy this morning and my friend's baby was sleeping so we had less distractions, which was a blessing! Then I came home to a re-heated meal from yesterday of fish and potatoes which was delicious. After dropping Scott off at work (his school bus driver job), Lucy and I stopped and got Scott two Christmas presents and met some nice people along the way. Having a baby sure is a conversation starter! Actually, I got one of his presents from a lady who had an ad on Kijiji and I gave her a tract with the Gospel in it, so if anyone would like to pray...Then I came home again and got to read my Bible more, have a shower, and have some down time too while Lucy got a nap in...though we did have play time before that. Then Scott's stepmom cooked a wonderful turkey dinner with all the trimmings (what does that even mean anyway?) which we thoroughly enjoyed! Afterwards, I fed the babe, then headed to my Women's Ministries class at EBBI while Scott watched Lucy again! What a wonderful husband the Lord has given me! He is now an exhausted wonderful husband, but the Lord always gives sweet rest when we need it. My Women's Ministries class is always such an encouragement to me, plus I love the fellowship at breaks, and the discussions we get into. I'm sad we only have two classes left and that I had to miss so many, but I know the Lord has other new blessings and encouragements in store, or I assume based on past experience anyway. :) The babe is now asleep and I think we should be too. I wanted to share my wonderfully exciting and encouraging day though. Thanks for reading! :) Hope you are counting your blessings today.

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." ~Colossians 3:15-17
