So Lucy runs out of diapers on her changing table...I strap her down and head for the new box in the corner. I come back with said box and begin opening it...strong glue. No problem, I stick my hand in the opening and pull up hard on one side. The left lid side flies open and I feel PAIN!! I quickly assess the situation~ nail still in tact and on finger, this is good. White line appears halfway down nail. So I bent my nail back halfway, but it's still on! Pain increasing. Lucy's interest level increasing because now Mommy's finger is in her mouth, she's making funny noises, and she's jumping around to boot. Mommy is really trying to relieve pain, even using her breathing techniques! Lucy begins laughing...Mommy sees the humour in the situation and joins in the laughter. Time to get back to business, unstrap Lucy, change stinky diaper, and make it downstairs in time to greet Daddy from the sun porch by waving to him as he pulls in, home from work! Mission accomplished...pain follows for a couple days, at least. Who knew people flick their fingers after washing their hands?! The things you find out when one nail malfunctions... :)
