Weekend Happenings

We had an exciting and eventful weekend! I got my hair cut on Thursday, which isn't really the weekend, but I'm so happy for a fresh trim! (working towards a new look, which should surface in a month of two!) Friday was busy! Scott dropped Lucy and I off at Mum and Dad's house for the afternoon, to save time after he got off work.  We got to chat with Shelby on the tele! :) Then the fun began. I fed Lucy her supper, but not her bottle. Scott stopped by for a quick supper, which consisted of KD mac and cheese, yummy treat! Then he left to go switch the car for a van, pick up some teens, and head to the church. I waited for Mum, Dad, Aunt Liz, and Uncle Gordie to get back from their day trip to Halifax. After some quick instructions and some smiles, I left Lucy with Mum overnight for the third time in her life.
Lucy's loves sleepovers at Gram and Gramps house!!
I then headed to the church in Mum's sweet car, the G6! Then we divided the teens into the two vehicles, prayed for safety, and were on the road! If only it was that easy... :) We stopped for gas and one teen girl, who will remain unnamed, was allowed to go into the gas station and buy supper, since she hadn't eaten yet. Scott had to go in and retrieve her. Girls! :) Then we had to stop and pick up Scott's friend, Greg...so instead of arriving in Little Lepreau around 7 PM, we arrived at 8:20PM, but just in time to surprise their youth group! Yay!
We joined their photo scavenger hunt and the race was on...guys won, but only for creativity. :) We, the girls, got to the bonfire first. :) The road to the beach, where we roasted marshmallows, was a 20 km/hr zone and we went at least 40...needless to say, I can't tell you how many times I made sure everyone had their seat belts on throughout the evening. Haha! God blessed me personally, not only with safety driving the back roads, but He allowed me to see 2 shooting stars within 2 minutes! I was SO excited!
Then we headed back to the church for a message from God's Word from my dear husband, Scott. He preached that Jesus willingly died on the cross for us, we didn't put Him there. Then we ate yummy chocolate cake with chocolate and peanut butter topping! (I may have called to check on Lucy at this point, who was still awake and having a blast playing Phase 10 with her Gram and great aunts)
We then headed to Joel and Tara's house to start pumping up air mattresses and getting settled in for the night. I found out later that the guys played a game of ball before going to bed, at the church. Joel and Tara let me be the first guest to sleep in their new guest bed!! I had been all prepared to sacrifice my pregnant self and sleep on the floor, the Lord is so good! Also, I got to see the stars while I feel asleep, an added bonus. :)
Morning came early, but breakfast was delicious! Also, Sapphira is adorable and it was so nice to hold a happy smiling baby when ours was two hours away. She was even cuddly! Cute!
After some teens, and Scott, tried their hand at chopping wood, we hit the road again. We filled up in Saint John and decided to do some sight seeing. The teens were thrilled! we went to the Reversing Falls, which was free! Then we went to McDonalds, per the girls request, who wanted a Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry. I got a strawberry banana smoothie! Scott witnessed to some bikers and we headed the rest of the way home. We saw at least 8 bald eagles and one deer, but it was dead. We had some profitable conversations and shared salvation testimonies, which was great! Lucy was thrilled to see us, but I'm sure we missed her more...she was with her Gram, after all. :) We had a roast for supper and Greg Gillis stayed the night, we also played some UnoSpin. Scott and I were pretty exhausted, but did some Bible reading, and I took a trip, ALONE!, to the Dollar Store for a Sunday School prize and to the bank.
Sunday morning came early, but we were all in a good mood and excited to get to church! Lucy wore a pretty blue dress, my Sunday School class went fabulously (God heard and answered prayers!), and Greg took us out to China House for lunch. Then Lucy and I took a much needed nap! It was a great message Sunday night from Pastor Fosmark on how to be a witness for Christ, though he only got through 4 of his 7 points. I'm looking forward to the to be continued! We're having a personal evangelism refresher course starting this Thursday night which I am very much looking forward to! And tomorrow night is my ladies Bible study, yay!
This morning we got to hear baby #2's heartbeat and next Thursday is the ultrasound! It's been an exciting day so far, and I'm tired already. :) Haha! I intend to blog again soon about
being friends with the people you're ministering to, but haven't had the time to get all my thoughts together yet. Soon to come though, hopefully! :)
