Yesterday was such a busy day for me. It seems like because Scott was sick, God gave me so much extra energy to get a lot of things done and participate in fun things. The morning began with getting ready, a little Bible reading, and Scott and I fed Lucy (he gave her cereal, I gave her a bottle).
Then Mrs. Fosmark came over to give a few of us young moms a parenting session. There were a lot of distractions though...mainly a seven year old, an almost one year old, a ten month old, and an eight month old...not to mention the phone and doorbell. We talked about discipline and scheduled play time. We also touched on toys...I have been guilty of letting Lucy play with common items instead of her baby toys. Common items like the telephone, my cell phone, a spatula, etc....Other people have given her keys to play with. The item that was brought up in the session, and in our discussion afterward, was purses. So if we let our baby play with our purse, then they crawl over to some other lady's purse and try to play with it, we'll need to tell them "No"...that sends a mixed message. So we're learning and all 3 of us moms enjoy our time of gleaning from Mrs. Fosmark's wisdom that she's gained through experience and study over the years.

Scott had gone with his fellow Assistant Pastor pals to meet another one in Sussex. I decided to take Aunt Gloria up on her offer to go to Pizza Delight for lunch. After feeding Lucy, we had a great time at PD, and good food. Lucy kept waving at people as they got up to leave. I hope she stays friendly as she grows up. We'll do what we can.
Then Aunt Gloria and I went to Sobeys to pick up the supplies we needed for youth group. I was so excited for Food Night! Aunt Gloria got some groceries she needed too. It was so busy in there and kind of stressful. Lucy was a very good girl though. When we headed out to the parking lot, the wind almost blew her hood off! It was crazy! Then we dropped off Aunt Gloria and came home to a sick husband and daddy. Poor Scott! It was like I kicked it into high gear though, I wanted so badly to take care of him and make it better. I was thankful to God for extra energy.
After I fed Lucy her supper, Scott decided we needed to cancel youth group...he was too sick. And I wasn't about to preach! Haha. I made the necessary phone calls and tidied up the house a little more while Scott gave Lucy her bottle. We had to get out quick because we had house showings starting at 5 PM.
We went to visit with Scott's dad and stepmom and his dad made me an omelette and toast. I was thankful! Lucy had another bottle there, then got fussy. It's strange to see her that way, she's normally in a good mood. She was asleep on the way home and slept from 8PM-11PM. I was sure she was out for the night! We gave her antibiotics, cereal, and a bottle and she slept the whole night through, as usual. Naps really are important for babies, eh?
While she napped and Scott rested, I got to go out again! I went to get Gatorade, then stopped at WalMart and shopped while barely anyone else was around. I beat the Mother's Day rush! I also got my church sandals for the summer, along with socks, and Sunday School treats. I kept texting Scott to make sure Lucy hadn't woken up.
We all had a pretty good sleep and slept in, kind of. Today was pretty busy too, as far as my energy level is concerned. While Lucy napped, I did get to go to the market and get some cute hair clips for Lucy...plus a maple cream leaf. My fav!! I've been waiting all day for Mum, Dad, and Shelby to get here and it is currently 6:10PM and they are still not home!! I am in on a little secret though...they should be here within a couple hours, if not much sooner! Lucy has her "Welcome Home Auntie Shelby!" outfit on and the cake, which I am going to decorate very soon, is currently cooling.
I'm praying that Scott feels good enough to go to church tomorrow with us. I'm excited to teach Sunday School, but sad that one of my little guys won't be there. His family is in Nova Scotia with some friends for the weekend. He texted me this morning and it was so cute! He said, "By by." and "u wot se me" and then, "miss you to". It made my morning! What a cutie. We didn't get to go to Church Work Day today, but I heard it was eventful! Having a doctor in the congregation is such a blessing!
