Canada Day 2011!!

What an experience! Scott couldn't come 'cause he had to prepare sermons, but a lot of the rest of my Mum's side of the family headed to Fundy...for a bbq at Wolfe Lake. There had been talk of just eating at a restaurant since that would have been much more convenient...oh, why did we not choose that option?!

The weather was gorgeous, but a little too warm for my liking, being in the state I currently am. :) Lucy put her feet in the water and loved it. Mum spotted a snake and before I knew it, I was chasing it as it swam in the lake! I LOVE snakes and it made my day. I know God must have brought it along to encourage me because Lucy, my cousin Jon, and I soon found ourselves in the car waiting to leave for over an hour. The bugs were ridiculous!! Lucy got bit on the forehead by a horsefly and got blood on her light pink hat. She couldn't have cared less, but it was the "last straw" for me!

While we sat in the car playing Angry Birds on the new iPod touch/iPhone that Lori gave me (ahhh!!! in love!), I spotted the biggest garter snake I have seen in my life! I quick forgot the bugs and started trying to find the right settings on my camera. The snake stayed in strike position for quite a while so I called over a pro photographer, Shelby's friend, Benj. The snake took off down the hill in a flash, but it was so exciting! I retreated back to the air conditioned/bug free environment to review my photos. The Lord was so good to give me not only one, but TWO snakes to play with!

It down poured and we hydroplaned on the way home, then we played cards for quite some time and I almost won. Scott came and had some treats then took Lucy and I to the Canada Day fireworks which, in my opinion, were the best yet! Lucy loved them and we listened to some funny songs from the Wilds Bunch while we waited in traffic to get home from Riverview. Lori sure did a great job at putting some sweet music on the iPod for us! Yesterday, I bought a new hook-up for the car and I'm excited to try it! It was really on sale. Thanks to Mum for babysitting Lucy because I also got the pregnancy pillow and had a good sleep! That pillow is the best! I think everyone should have one, pregnant or not! The Lord has been so good to us, providing for all our needs plus our wants!

"If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask Him"~Matthew 7:11

A fellow snake-lover! We raised black snakes when I was growing up- my dad was a science teacher. we also raised the rats to feed the snakes. :) Fun times. I remember when we moved to NC, I got to sit next to the snake's aquarium and thought it was just the greatest. One time in college a black snake slithered onto campus. Even the maintenance men didn't want to touch him, so guess who picked him up and took him to the woods? :)
