"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."~II Timothy 1:7
Perhaps some day I'll come to my senses and be fearless...this being a mum thing, I just don't know. Suddenly I'm no longer daring or taking risks, all I see is the potential danger and sometimes with graphic content! (cuts, blood, bumps, etc) Maybe time will heal my fears? Or maybe I'll always be overly cautious from now on?

natural mohawk, and proud of it! haha |
So we headed to PEI and once we arrived on the Island, we fed Lucy her vegetables, fruit, and bottle in the car. She did great! We got to the restaurant in good time and had some good fellowship before the meal. Lucy was kind of loud at times and I was really trying to keep her quiet...I wanted the high school graduates to get the attention they deserved! Lucy got even louder when her Daddy was trying to preach so eventually I gave her her bedtime bottle. That did the trick!
We did run into one small dilemma. Scott announced that we'd forgotten something important...rectangular..brown...the playpen!!! Ah! The Lord provided though, we had our choice of four plus playpens to borrow for the night. :) God is too good to us, for sure! We also got to stay in a beautiful bed and breakfast with a whirlpool tub! Lucy loved being in the same room as us and when Scott was reading the Bible before bed, we even let her lay down with us. She didn't do very much laying down though, she was way too thrilled! She did go to sleep quite well and slept in the frog position most of the night. Cute!
We had a wonderful breakfast and a good chat with Mrs. Reid in the morning. Then we headed to meet Lydia Joy! She is such a sweet, good, tiny baby! I could have held her and stared at her all day long. I can't wait to see them all again. We just love her so much!! We got a little idea of how Lucy will probably react to our coming baby~hair pulling and head kicking. (Lydia was not harmed, don't worry!) So much wonderfulness to look forward to! (sarcasm)
We headed back home, but stopped just before leaving the Island because we were both tired and figured a little walk would do us good. We looked around the shops and finally bought a few things at the candy store.(Like tear jerkers!) Surprise! Haha! We tried to witness to the cashier and that was quite an experience! She got off on a side issue, claimed to be agnostic, was really against anyone judging anyone else for anything, and then said that because we didn't believe what she did, she couldn't talk to us anymore and we should leave. Talk about judgmental!! Sad... Scott did mention the opportunity in his message on Sunday morning and his conclusion was this:
"The ultimate offense against a soul is to be told you are wrong. If you're wrong then that means you failed, you're not perfect. That means you need to ask for forgiveness. The only way you can have forgiveness is to ask God for it."~Scott Watters
So we left the Island and made our way back home. The rest is a blur...well, kind of. I know we ate food when we got home and that Lucy had her supper. I think we did some reading, unpacking, and a lot of cleaning.
Sunday morning came bright and early, but I had slept all night (not including bathroom breaks)!! Praise the Lord for blessed sleep.
"Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread."~Proverbs 20:13
Sunday morning was a little more rushed than normal since Scott was preaching, we were all pretty tired, and I had slept in a little. I dropped Scott and Lucy off at church and went to pick up 3 kids. When we arrived, Sunday School opening had already started, but we made our way up to the front. I discovered one of the children had smuggled a bottle of Pepsi into church. I confiscated that for the time being. :)
Sunday School went wonderfully, the kids calmed down (relatively) and listened, and I even got to pretend to be a classmate of one of them as he explained to me how to be forgiven of my sins and be saved. I made it slightly difficult for him with responses like, "Ask Jesus to come into my heart? Ew! That's gross, will I need surgery? He can't fit in there!!" His response was, "Jesus is invisible and He's so powerful that He can go wherever He wants." And he explained further. It was great!
Scott, my love, preached the morning message titled "The fear of forgiveness" and it was convicting. I was greeting visitors on my way to get Lucy from nursery so I could give her to Scott while I brought the 3 kids home, when the children beckoned me to get their candy. When I had almost reached the stairs, one of the 3 children came screaming from the stairs (and I mean screaming!!!) because the door had swung back and hit him in the head. Awful! The half an egg-sized bump was already visible. I consoled him and led him downstairs looking for ice. I found three EMPTY ice cub trays, and 2 juice cans. Juice it was...trying to get a 7 year old to keep a juice can wrapped in a dishtowel on his head for 10 minutes is hard work! At least he wasn't alone, Vanessa had a matching bump from a run-in she'd had with the front door earlier that morning. Ouch! The little boy's mom wasn't concerned at all and he went out to play and show his neighbourhood friends. Cute!!
When I arrived back at the church, Lucy had had half of her lunch. Scott, Lucy, and I headed home and did some last-minute tidying and got out of the house! We got Subway for lunch, yummy! After eating at the church, Lucy and I went to hang out with Mum and Shelby while Scott did more preparation. Lucy loves time with her Gram! Me too. :)
Just as Lucy finally went to dream land for nappy time, it was time to go back to church and get her supper. Less than 40 minutes of nap time all day instead of 4 hours, and she was still in a good mood! We're so blessed! :) Evening service was wonderful as well~Don't give up and don't get worked up was what the message was about.

Lucy loves Tara! |
We invited the Haley's over and had a great time! The older boys talked non-stop (almost) and after we ate, we played UnoSpin. The boys did really well and Colby won! Needless to say, he was more than happy. Then he let me put a band-aid and Polysporin on his elbow scratch, even though he was convinced it was going to sting. I gave him a sheep band-aid. :)
On a side note: I've been doing a women's Bible study, Refresh Your Heart by Claudia Barba. It's been so good so far, I'm really enjoying! One thing I really appreciate is that it has plenty of verses from both the Old and New Testament throughout each chapter. It was recommended by a friend and I'm so thankful I got it! Now onto this new week, I know it will involve fun fun fun!!

Mrs. Dodd did a ladies Bible study with Refresh Your Heart two years ago, and I really loved it! Such a good book. Ok.. your part about pretending to be a kid made me laugh sooo hard... because it brought back memories of our teaching college classes :) We were all sooo good at pretending to be "good" little kids for the "teacher," weren't we... :)
Ya, I'll be recommending this book to my friends, I think! I'm done yet though. :) I remember our mad skills at pretending to be "good" little kids for the "teacher"...definitely some of my favourite memories!
