"And Peter answered Him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And He said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt? And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased. Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped Him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God."~Matthew 14:30-33
I read this today and it was exactly what I needed to hear. It amazes me that God's Word is so alive and that He desires to speak to us (little ole me!) through it. I don't know of any other living books, do you?
I'm a visual learner and this illustration is so clear to me~Peter got his eyes off his Lord and onto his circumstances and began to sink. When Peter asked for help, Jesus IMMEDIATELY reached out and helped him. Scott and I have a couple of areas in life that we really need to trust the Lord with in the next few days. And I mean fully trust the Lord. We want to operate differently from the world. We desire to let God be in control without trying to do things in our own power. I've always struggled with this, trying to make things happen my way, that is. We want God to get the glory and we want to see Him do mighty and wonderful things in our lives. The passage I was reminded of as I read this morning is the following,
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."~Mark 9:23-24
My prayer today: "Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief."

Thanks for this reminder! You always seem to post things that I need ;) isn't it awesome how that works out? We are working through things with moving to Nfld, so I am learning (again) to just put my whole trust in Him.. when I so DESPERATELY want to be in control! ;)
It is awesome how that works out! I'm praying for you as you move to NFLD and will continue to pray. I'm so excited for you! I do know there are probably a lot of details still hanging in the air, but just know this~the Lord will provide, as He always does! :)
very interesting, thanks
